Client Site Experience

Developing and delivering project successfully itself a very challenging task. But to go on site, face customer, fix bugs, go live activity etc is most challenging of all. I got the chance to go onsite this year. The most important lesson I learned is "Every requirement should be documented." To deliver task in pressure environment is not just a task when you are with customer, you have to keep customer at his initial requirement is most important of all. This issue can make delay in your projects. 

Although my task was little difference as I was working under client project manager.I was given a chance to work for Barclays Bank PLC Dubai. Basically it was three months task, but was then extended for six months. I worked mainly on Business Intelligence feature of SQL Server. I worked on banking domain in many of my projects before but to work in real environment and understanding banking system in depth was an interesting task.The most challenging and interesting work was to write a procedure to give a single view of bank customer from the different system of account, card and investment. A very detail testing made it efficient and bug free.


One fear I always had of was web service, which also vanished. I wrote some web services from scratch with proper logging and error handling. It gave me full hand on web services.

Nowadays one of the most common problem for computer geeks is usb virus, Whenever you bring some data from your university or company or elsewhere you are afraid that it should not become stick of death otherwise you need to reinstall your PC. Now there is a solution in form of USB Hub known as U+ USB HUB which scan your usb files before accessing it by computer. So virus can be stopped right at the carrier and stops them right at the USB. It is connected to your system and whenever any usb is connected to system through it, it start its work.

As this is my first post so let me first introduced my self. My name is Muzammil Younus as you already know from this blog main page. I am working in Avanza Solutions as Software Engineer after doing my bachelors in 2008 from Fast University Karachi.

First let me tell you the first experience I had in professional environment. 

"It is totally different experience as compared to academic work. No Comparison."

I have learned many things till now in my short career of almost 2 Years, work on different technologies, on different project, with different people. This experience really polished my skills as well as firmed my confidence on my work. The main practice which I done after getting here was to write Generic Code which was very much lacking in my academic career. One most important thing which should be strictly followed by student that give enough time to practicals, although there is very much less weight age as compared to theory but practical is an actual knowledge which will be used thought out your life. For sure practical can be very much be corrected through proper knowledge of Concepts.
